Call for Beta Readers!

I’m looking for 1 or 2 beta readers for Sisters. I can pay you in art!

Here’s the scoop!

What is a Beta Reader?
A beta reader is someone who reads a novel before it is published and provides feedback to the author (Did they enjoy it? Was it a good book? Were there any plot holes or inconsistencies?).

They do not do any editing or any technical work!

They read it as though they were someone who bought the book.

What I am Looking for
One or two mature, trustworthy people to beta read the novel who will provide feedback within a decent turnaround time (1 – 2 months).

If you’d like to get a feel for Sisters, I have the first few chapters on Wattpad.

I’ll be honest: the chapters get darker and darker, and I don’t know if I should continue posting them publicly without someone reading through the entire novel first (for now I’m putting the rest of the chapters on private).

Sisters Stats

  • 131 Word pages

What’s in it for you!

An Excerpt from Donner Lake Disaster!

My free ebook, Donner Lake Disaster, is now available at the iBookstore! Did I mention that it is free? 😉 But first, enjoy this short video where I read an excerpt from it.

My cover launch party contest is still running! I am giving out some fun prizes, so check it out: 2014 Cover Launch Party

A quick iBookstore guide:
Go to the App Store and download Apple’s iBooks app (it is free).

Once you’ve downloaded it, open the app. There are two options in the upper right hand corner. Tap or click on “Store.” Once the store comes up, use the search feature in the upper right corner.

Tada! There it is! Press the FREE box to download it.

To get back to your library, tap the “Library” option in the upper lefthand corner.

Delilah00

Greetings!

I hope everyone had a fun filled New Years holiday! I have a lot of things in store for 2014, so keep your eyes peeled…keep them particularly sharp on 15 Jan.

The latest of my short stories is out and available at the iBookstore.

This is where I read you all a sample of it now:

Delilah00
The year is Y.E. 0417, yet there are still a few people out there who act like senseless A.D. barbarians. Mira Montague has been humiliated for the last time! Her favorite Empire Web hangout is becoming unbearable. Revenge on user Delilah00 is going to be a frosty dish.

Mira’s petty problems are nothing compared to the sudden pressure put on her cousin at the observatory.  The empire wants to find the Venetians’ base of operations, so much so, that they send a member of the sinister Lafayette Guard to expedite the process.  Mira must help her cousin because his life is on the line if he fails. Follow this short story as Mira teeters on the brink of madness when her quest for revenge becomes an obsession.

The frayed veil of utopian peace grows thinner. A few citizens are finding that out firsthand, and almost always with their life in peril.  Delilah00 is the second installment of M.L. Crabb’s dystopian tales.

You can find it on Lulu here, or you can find it at the iBookstore!

It’s a Bit Electronic

With Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s time for most to curl up, relax, and enjoy a good book! While I’m saving up for an editor for my novel, I am writing short stories set in the same universe. They are all set five years before the events that take place in The Year is Now.

Here is the debut of my first short story ebook! It is available for $2.75 and is suitable for e-readers, iPads, and other e-reading devices.

Lucius Sinclair
Click here to purchase Lucius Sinclair.

The year is Y.E. 0417, and Lucius Sinclair is finally free of his reckless, abusive twin. Where Remus was gifted with wit and brawn, Lucius was plagued with a nasty little trait that the empire exterminates—telepathy.

Now that he is attending vocational school and is far away from his brother, Lucius is shocked to find that he is actually excelling at his trade. Just when he feels safe and starts fitting in with his peers, he stumbles into a disturbing truth. It turns out that he’s not the only one harboring a deep, dark secret.  Betrayal is almost certain. Follow this short story as Lucius Sinclair struggles to hide his true face and cope with the turbulence thrown his way.

Watch this special empire broadcast for a sneak peak of Lucius Sinclair!

How to read an ebook on an iPad:
Go to Apple’s app store
Search for “iBooks”
Select iBooks by Apple
Download the app
iBooks is easy to use and is very straightforward. You don’t have to be a computer genius to enjoy it and start reading ebooks.

A Miniature Hello

I still don’t have a regular routine yet (I’m still in training), and for the past few days I’ve been trying to figure out what to write here…Considering that I keep coming up blank, I’m going to do something a little different today!

My miniature, peg doll self has graciously decided to say hello! She is also going to read a tiny excerpt from my novel.

The dolls in the background are fan art of Babylon 5. Babylon 5 was created by J. Michael Straczynski.

I had the dishwasher on the first time I filmed this. It’s normally quiet, but when it reaches a certain point in its cycle, it makes a deafening MMMERRRRRWOOOSH sound. Needless to say, it wanted to say hello too… I couldn’t stop laughing at it, so I had to turn it off and start over.

Maybe I should write about routines next time… It’s something to think about!
