Weekly Roundup: I Haz Contest and Catch-up Bowl MMXV

After working 10 days in a row and fighting off a nasty cold, I am finally back to the random whims of what we call free time!
The painting used in this graphic is Daydreaming by Edward Harrison May.

Catch-up Bowl MMXV
I enjoy my job, but running a work marathon without a day off gets to you. The nasty cold didn’t help matters either! By the end of it, I was neckbearding my evenings away by binge watching trashy shows on Netflix.

Oh how I missed revising my “Omg, orcs!” book! I was too drained to even look at the thing
.

Now that everything seems normal with my schedule, *knock on wood* I’m hoping to jump back into my routine. I’ll tell you what though, today I’ve been that daydreaming woman in that painting! I slept in late and haven’t accomplished a thing except for this post.

I don’t have a catchy transition sentence to jump to the fact that I liked my OMG orcs! drawing so much that I did a Delenn (from Babylon 5) version and a special V-Day contest Star Trek red shirt edition.

Happy Halloween

I hope everyone is having an awesome Halloween! Remember to have a boooooo-tastic time. Eat plenty of candy, and do let the boooo-bugs bite!

I’ve extended the Trick-Or-Treat deadline to tomorrow. You have one extra day to send a picture of your costumes and decorations! I didn’t realize that the 1st fell on a Saturday when I initially made the contest. Saturday is the busiest day of the week for me. I’m home for a total of two or three hours. I’ll announce the winner on Sunday…unless, of course, Major Pierson doesn’t get his three entries.

Full giveaway post is here: 2014 Trick-Or-Treat Giveaway

What is a Halloween contest without posting my own costume?

I am a random extra from the anime, Attack on Titan. I’ve got several sets of shiny keys that lead to no where.

Weekly Roundup
~ is very brief this week
This week in
Space
It has been a very sad week for space exploration. An Antares rocket exploded on Tuesday, 28 October. It was carrying cargo to the International Space Station. It was an unmanned flight, and no one was injured.
Another incident happened today (I was disheartened to learn). As quoted from Virgin Galactic’s Facebook page:
Virgin Galactic’s partner Scaled Composites conducted a powered test flight of SpaceShipTwo earlier today. During the test, the vehicle suffered a serious anomaly resulting in the loss of the vehicle. The WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft landed safely. Our first concern is the status of the pilots, which is unknown at this time. We will work closely with relevant authorities to determine the cause of this accident and provide updates as soon as we are able to do so.

I don’t have a blunt opinion (other than the fact that I hope that we continue to venture out into space despite the recent incidents), so I’ll skip ahead to the video of the week.

2014 Trick-Or-Treat Giveaway

It is officially October (well, it has been for the past five days, but that’s beside the point…right?). Bring out the orange and black, the fake bats, goons, and goblins, and spin those webs of cotton! As for me, I will be enjoying many pumpkin spice lattes. Yes, I am extremely cliche when it comes to certain things in the mundane world of life. [ Insert winking emote here ]

Happy BOOctober from Elly and Pierson!
…Although he is not too happy about being forced into a Dracula costume.
I’m working on a spooky tale, chipping away at it when I can. The process is slow, but it’s better than never. In the meantime, if you want to get your Halloween spirit on, try Donner Lake Disaster on for size. It has a popping amount of pulp and Lovecraftian fun. The best part? It’s FREE!

2014 Trick-Or-Treat Giveaway!

Elly is feeling generous and wants to hand out treats at the end of the month. Watch out for Pierson though…he’s full of tricks!

Send me a picture of your Halloween costume, decorations, or you in costume by 11:59 p.m. on the 31st November 1st, and I’ll pick a winner. The winner will receive a paperback copy of The Year is Now

There’s a catch though: I need at least THREE entries. Pierson is just waiting to pull a trick!

Send all entries and inquiries to:

On November 2nd, I’ll announce the winner. If I don’t get enough entries, Pierson will take over this blog and post a trick!

+ It has to be your costume, not just a screenshot of a super awesome costume on Amazon.
+ You do not have to be wearing it (you can take a picture of it hanging up or laid out).
+ Houses/Apartments decked out in Halloween decorations are okay–they just have to be yours.
+ International entries are okay!
